Public data was not the same as usable evidence.
A comparative health-system profile crossed dozens of public sources without producing a dependable answer. That failure became a starting point for Open-Informatics, shaped by a problem I kept seeing in academic work and with AJHCS: students and researchers could find public data, but not the infrastructure needed to use it with provenance intact.
